Experience You Can Trust, Support You Can Count On
Shirley Gordon - A Journey of Love and Support
I’m Shirley Gordon, I have dedicated my life to helping caregivers and their loved ones navigate the difficult journey of caring for someone with dementia. I was the Co-Founder of Guiding Angels of NH LLC, a caregiver support organization, I am a Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP) with 15 years of experience as a Caregiver Coach, a member of Coalition for Caring for the past 10 years, as well as a NH Ambassador for AFTD. For 6 years, I was employed at Easter Seals NH, offering services and support to hundreds of caregivers. In addition to coaching work, I also educates caregivers, equipping them with the knowledge and tools they need to better care for themselves and their loved ones.
Advocacy and Recognition
I have been a strong voice in the New Hampshire legislature, advocating for the rights of caregivers and their loved ones. I played a key role in advancing the Silver Alert bill, which was successfully passed in 2009 under the leadership of Maggie Hassan. In addition, I served two terms on the Alzheimer’s Association of NH board of directors and represented the organization as an Ambassador. My unwavering dedication to the caregiving community has earned recognition from many organizations, including being named one of New Hampshire’s “Top 20 Outstanding Women You Should Know” in 2014. Today, I continue to champion caregivers and families, using my expertise, advocacy, and personal experience to make a lasting impact in the dementia care community.
A Personal Journey
My husband Mike was diagnosed with Frontal Temporal Dementia at age 64, and I was his primary caregiver for 13 years.
